Interview Framing
As a disabled person going for employment interviews, focus on outcomes. The goal is to lead the conversation toward results. By reframing your needs as professional requirements, you demonstrate self-awareness and high emotional intelligence.
Instead of
- “I struggle with…” Say “I work best when…”
- "I have trouble with loud offices." Say "I produce my highest-quality deep work in quiet environments or with noise-cancelling tools."
- "I can’t do early morning meetings." Say "I hit my peak productivity during [Time] and prefer to schedule high-stakes tasks then."
That shift changes the conversation from a "problem to solve" to a "strategy for success."
